KickaStone | 2026-01-16 08:14:37 UTC | #1 Hi, equations cannot be rendered inside the "details" tag when using the MathJax engine. Like this ``` [details="Summary"] $a \times b = c$ [/details] ``` Could you take a look at this problem? ------------------------- sam | 2026-01-16 05:51:00 UTC | #2 It is fixed now :hugs: [details="Summary"] $a \times b = c$ [/details] ------------------------- Ethsim2 | 2026-01-16 08:15:46 UTC | #3 Yep - this was already fixed quite a while ago 👍 The MathJax-inside-[details] issue was resolved by
https://github.com/discourse/discourse-math/pull/111
That change has been in place for a long time, which is why Sam’s example now renders correctly. Looks like this report just hit an instance that hadn’t updated yet - all good now. ------------------------- Moin | 2026-01-16 08:19:47 UTC | #4
Looks like this report just hit an instance that hadn’t updated yet
Well, the report was written in 2024. There was no fix back then. Why do you assume they haven't updated since? ------------------------- Ethsim2 | 2026-01-16 08:22:01 UTC | #5 Because https://meta.discourse.org/raw/393640 says the report was made this year ------------------------- Moin | 2026-01-16 10:15:47 UTC | #6 It says the post was last updated today (which makes sense. I have added a tag). The date in the raw is `updated_at` not `created_at` https://github.com/discourse/discourse/blob/8b9fb4e69fab1f2014ab519874e2b548cfdc463f/app/controllers/posts_controller.rb#L51 ------------------------- Ethsim2 | 2026-01-16 10:15:46 UTC | #7
It says the post was last updated today (which makes sense. The confusion comes from `/raw/` using `updated_at` in the header, which makes historical reports look “newer” than they are. I think the real question is whether `/raw/` should: - use `created_at` instead, or - explicitly label it as “updated”, or - include both to avoid misinterpretation. Happy to put together a small PR once there’s agreement on which behaviour is preferred. -------------------------
