Ran into this today posting in our internal forum.
I was trying to make the point that our product over-uses ellipses with a title like:
Over-use of…
Which turned into
Over-use of
Over and over and over. 
What finally worked was (note the spaces)
Over-use of . . . .
Had to use 4 because the last one was automatically cut out
