Migrate a NodeBB forum with Redis to Discourse

I keep on nagging about my migration in different threads :smiley:

I have a forum on NodeBB with Redis and have been able to complete the process without errors in the development version, but I still have some questions:

  • In the migration script I correctly put the absolute path where I had the images and forum files. When I finished the migration I see that the images are not visible in the threads. In Discourse they appear linked in the URL: assets/uploads, but there is nothing there.

    In the development version I have solved this by making a symbolic link:
    ln -s path/to/images public/assets

    But in the production version, what do I have to do to create a link from assets/upload inside the docker to the folder where I put the old images?

  • It seems that all the forum threads have been migrated correctly, but I don’t see the direct messages between users… are they not in the migration?

  • The script has not detected any user avatars.

  • And lastly, in the new forum I don’t see any embedding of Youtube videos or Twitts. Do I have to install a plugin for that?
