We are in the same boat as @eesty , evaluating a switch away - as unfortunate as it is, for the reasons in the op. We moved from SMF to Discourse 3 years back. Our biggest impact has been on ad revenue that dropped to 10% of what it was and never rose. I love discourse absolutely - elegant, smooth,…

I reviewed a small page on my site with few ad slots and the blank ads issue exists here too. So it is likely that limited google ads per page is not the cause here.

[image] Chandra: So it is likely that limited google ads per page is not the cause here. Correct. Google’s algos are quite strict about serving ads (as they should be). Adsense crawlers crawl sites serving Adsense and will analyze the content and myriad other factors to determine if an ad …

Not a blank ad. I can see them all on your test site.

[image] Chandra: Not a blank ad. I can see them all on your test site. Yes, I’m pretty sure if we make the topic 200 replies long, and we placed a house placement like this in between each post, Discourse would “do it’s correct magic” and load the content of those iframes just before the tags…

As far I could see on adsense settings, autoads is per site. I have disabled autoads for the site now. Thank you.

Online ads have collapsed since 2017 for a lot of sites, regardless of software, so that’s another variable.. you can’t expect to get 2020 rates in 2017 even if you changed nothing.
