Given the expectations set by topics, I’d personally prefer prioritizing a consistent, user-centred UX across both topics and chat, even if that introduces some additional implementation effort.
Would it be possible to get a rough estimate of the scope involved? That might make it easier for contributors outside the core team to assess whether they could help implement it.
