Sound to me like you are blocking the content type it is trying to include.
Maybe temporarily allow all upload extensions and isolate which extension here is being rejected?
I do not believe we changed anything here recently. At a minimum I 100% agree we need a better error message here.

Arguably when we are pasting in stuff we could skip mime types that are not supported.
