New replies do not display without manual page refresh

AI-generated summary

Users reported an issue where new replies on the Discourse forum would not display without manually refreshing the page. patrickemin first noted the problem occurred after installing a National Flags fork plugin, but disabling it didn’t resolve the issue. Testing revealed the problem persisted across all desktop browsers but not on mobile, and only occurred outside safe mode. After extensive troubleshooting — disabling plugins and Trust Level (TC) components one by one — patrickemin identified that disabling the TC Trust Level Avatar Flair resolved the issue, despite it having been installed long before the problem began. A console error was noted but not further analyzed. NateDhaliwal and chapoi assisted in diagnosing, with chapoi expressing surprise at the unexpected side effect. After confirming the fix, patrickemin confirmed the issue was resolved and thanked the helpers. The root cause appears tied to the Trust Level Avatar Flair component, though the exact mechanism remains unclear.

Hi, something new this morning, new replies do not display without manual page refresh… Happened three times to me the admin… No error displayed.

Does this happen in safe mode?

Just tested, no it does not, and I am thinking this happened after I installed this National Flags fork:

Happening only on Chrome (Desktop), no problem on Chrome mobile… Does not appear to be related to plugins or TCs…

Oh no, that would be an odd side-effect

Can you confirm its fixed if you disable that fork?

Disabling the fork, the problem remains.

I have been trying so many things, disabling TCs one by one, plugins one by on, the issue remains on Desktop (all browsers), no issue on mobile. Only certainty: the issue does not happen in safe mode…

Well, well, if I disable the TC Trust-Level Avatar Flair the issue disappear…

But I must say, I had this TC installed long before the issue of replies not displaying arose…

The error I have in the console:

@patrickemin Now that the problem with the TC has been fixed, is this problem still there?

No the issue is fixed, thanks both of you !
