User raadtotheraad reports an issue during Discourse setup where Nginx displays a message indicating further configuration is required, and the web server restarts unexpectedly. The user is running a production install on VMware and hasn’t made any custom changes. merefield asks for clarification on the cloud provider and installation environment, later suggesting that using a standard cloud VPS (like DigitalOcean or AWS) would be more efficient and supported, noting that setup takes under 30 minutes. raadtotheraad confirms they’re not using a cloud provider. tobiaseigen asks if the user was able to get their site up and running. The discussion highlights potential complications with non-standard environments like VMware and recommends cloud-based VPS for smoother installation.
I think you may have discovered that it does. I highly recommend you use a cloud VPS using the standard install. It takes all of 30 minutes to set up, if that and you will get much more efficient support on here.
