Which cloud provider are you with?

A production install on a vmware environment.. Im not sure if that changes anything really

I think you may have discovered that it does. I highly recommend you use a cloud VPS using the standard install . It takes all of 30 minutes to set up, if that and you will get much more efficient support on here.
