Unhide button on first post does nothing after flag + edit sequence

Hi, I ran into an unusual issue on my site where the Unhide button on the first post simply does nothing, with no error and no log entry.

What happened

  1. A user created a topic.
  2. The first post contained a keyword from my Watched Words (Flag) list.
  3. I manually reviewed the flag and chose the “Hide Post” option.
  4. Later, a moderator edited the post and tried to make the topic public again.
  5. The topic itself became visible, but the first post remained hidden.
  6. When I click Unhide on the first post, nothing happens — the post remains hidden.

Additional notes

  • The post had hidden_reason_id = 1.
  • I tried to reproduce the same sequence again (Watched Word → Auto-flag → Agree → Edit), but I cannot reproduce the bug anymore.

I’m quite confused about why this happened — it really seems like a bug.
Is there still any way to rescue this post, or is it permanently stuck in this hidden state?

Does it say anything in the console when you try to click it?

Seems like it, thanks for pointing that out.

Looks like the bug report found the underlying reason for it and has more info, so Ill close this one out.
