Is it possible to format the font used for custom navigation links?

Thanks for offering to help, but I cannot get it to work.

There must be an easier way to simply add italics to the link. This is the code I am using:

I also noticed that my custom link is not visible on mobile devices (whether I’m logged in or not). That kinda sucks. Is there a way to fix that?
