I would like to script discourse restore... but I don’t understand how to easily pass commands from the host to the discourse docker container. I tried: sudo docker run local_discourse/app discourse enable_restore but that didn’t work… Ideally I could do something like ./launcher run app discours…

After inspecting ./launcher for a while, I was able to implement a ./launcher exec command that works like I was hoping for. Made a PR if the Discourse team can make this generally available. https://github.com/discourse/discourse_docker/pull/398 With this, I was able to very easily grab my lates…

Here’s an example of what I’ve been doing: docker exec -w /var/www/discourse -i app rake api_key:get but having launcher facilitate that seems like a great idea to me.

Is there an obvious advantage here that I’m missing versus running commands directly inside the container using
./launcher enter app
