I have AI set up on my forum, I have working chatbots, and working title suggestions but I can’t find out how to enable the “AI” button to enable lots of other things?
I am hosted with Communiteq and have a working OpenAI API.
Thanks
Shauny is seeking help to enable the “AI” button in the toolbar on their Discourse forum, despite having AI features like chatbots and title suggestions already working. They’ve followed the setup guide linked by Lilly but only see limited functionality. Shauny later discovers the AI button does work — but only when text is highlighted, and it’s poorly discoverable, especially on mobile where it’s easily confused with the “Cut” button. They also note the toolbar button layout differs from Meta’s. Moin explains that the button’s position was recently changed and may require an update or waiting for the next stable release. Since Shauny’s forum is on the stable branch, they’ll need to wait for the next release to see the updated UI as noted in their reply.

did you read this topic yet?
Yes and I’ve followed all those steps. Everything is set up correctly and I get the AI suggestion for titles but that’s it, nothing else ![]()
I’ve actually just discovered by accident that it is enabled and working but you need to highlight the text you want to proofread and then click the AI button, which is all very difficult on mobile (I kept clicking Cut by mistake) and not at all discoverable.
So my next question is how to get the toolbar button like they have on Meta?
That was changed some weeks ago. EIther an update will help or, if the forum is tracking the stable branch, it is likely that only waiting until the next release will change the position of the button.
Oh, we are on stable. I guess I have to wait.
