Cate_Soule reported that category banners stopped displaying after adding more categories, despite the Theme Component being enabled and configured via the Object Settings Editor. They confirmed ‘Hide if no description’ was disabled and tried reverting changes without success. After updating their forum, they checked the browser console for errors — initially finding some, but none after a second update — yet banners still didn’t appear. NateDhaliwal asked for console logs and theme/component settings, which Cate_Soule shared via screenshots. Moin suggested testing the preview button, but Cate_Soule confirmed it didn’t work either. Ultimately, Cate_Soule resolved the issue by rebuilding the app. No clear root cause was identified, but the problem was tied to the Theme Component’s behavior post-configuration or update.
The category banners were displaying correctly earlier, but after I added more categories for them to appear in, they suddenly stopped showing both on desktop and mobile.
Just to clarify:
Theme Component: Category Banners
The banner is still enabled, including for mobile
I used the ‘Object Settings Editor’ to assign the categories where the banner should appear.
After making that change, the banners no longer show up at all.
‘Hide if no description’ is disabled
I’ve tried undoing the changes and resetting the category assignments, but the banners still don’t reappear.
I’m not sure if it’s related, but I also updated my forum today.
