500 internal server error

(Jacob) #1

There used to be a forum running at my domain name that had a ton of spam on it. I keep getting 500 internal server errors randomly and this is my production.log What I can do to stop this?

    Started GET "/index.php?/topic/65947-find-real-cheap-dipentum-no-prescription-online-dipentum-free-fedex-shipping/" for 216.70.122.73 at 2013-09-26 02:19:53 -0400

ActionController::RoutingError (No route matches [GET] "/index.php"):
  config/initializers/quiet_logger.rb:10:in `call_with_quiet_assets'
  config/initializers/silence_logger.rb:19:in `call'
  config/initializers/99-rack-cache.rb:20:in `call'

Processing by ExceptionsController#not_found as */*

This definitely should be returning 404s and not 500s

Is there something I don’t have configured correctly? What other logs can I look at?

I don’t think so, suspect it’s a legit bug

I just tried this now on the latest code, and got a 404 response:

So it seems to be fixed… If you update your server @illspirit please let us know if you still see 500’s for those kinds of requests.

Getting 404s now, thank you.
