# A Slack vs Discourse comparison by Dgraph Labs

After 4 years of running Slack to support our community, we have decided to shut it down. Instead, we are doubling down on Discourse.

This blog post goes into the reasoning of how we made this decision. It contains an understanding that we could not find in any article. An understanding that developed over the last 4 years of running both Slack and Discourse to support our community.
