# Activation Email not Received

Hi there i’ve setup Discourse on DigitalOcean and i can access the main page
but when i try to create the new user (the first user)
the activation email is never received.
I entered details for the SMTP
is there a way to go back into root and check the configuration again?

I’ve double checked the configuration and all is 100% same as mandrill expected settings
no leading # either
help ☹

Did you try sending a test email? If yes, can you paste your `app.yml`? (Make sure you hide password and other API Key or secrets)

Yes i did send a test email and verified that emails were working correctly with Mandrill.
the problem though was because i didnt copy and paste the api key for mandrill ☹ woops
I misread a I (eye) for an l (L)
