# Add a list of changed core and plugin settings in releases

I like the [Releases](https://releases.discourse.org/changelog) site, and option to compare between different versions, get details of what’s changed and all.

But, I think it would make it even better if the release notes, and the comparison views included a section listing all the changes in Discourse core and plugin settings.

When the default value is changed for a specific site setting, or a new plugin setting is introduced; a setting is removed altogether, etc. they should make this list.

Something similar to what **staff\_action\_logs** lists for `site setting`, `category setting` and `theme site setting` perhaps.

And perhaps these changes would also be filtered by a new SETTINGS filter in **Detailed Changes**.
