# Add ability to "lock" voting without closing topic

It’d be great to be able to lock voting (and “return” votes to users) without having to close down the whole topic. This would let us mark an item as “planned” or “in development” and let the conversation continue – there’s often quite a bit of detailed discussion in the topic which is useful during the planning and development phases.

I am very mixed on this feature, not immediately planned, maybe later.

We’ve also had clients ask for votes to be released once it’s on our roadmap. They see leaving their votes on features that are definitely going to be implemented a waste of a vote.
