Can we add a crop feature to discourse so my photoshopped pikachu’s ear won’t be cut off? ---

Not on the current roadmaps; try cropping it in a paint program for now, then uploading the cropped version. ---

This won’t help you on meta but in your Discourse, you can go back to square avatars using CSS. ---

Almost 10 years later and this is still not implemented, which is a bit weird, because most platforms allow this. Any plans to do it? Any plugins/components out there that allow this? Not all users want to add this extra step of editing an image beforehand. I like to remove all the friction, as much as possible, and this is one of them for sure. Yes, something along these lines where the crop would be fixed to a square, where we could zoom in/out and drag: ![original-769ce55059ecafe6e1186806ecb16907](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/meta/original/4X/6/9/8/6984b21f7ad3b08e184fcf803c7527d71e67e093.jpeg) Also, even though not fully on topic, a way to drag and drop an image. There are other places where we can do that, using it for the avatar as well would be great.
