Muhammed_EKİCİ is facing an issue with Apple, as they want the “ignore” feature to be more accessible in their Discourse web view mobile application. Currently, users must go to a user’s profile to find the ignore option. Muhammed_EKİCİ would like to add an ignore button to the post menu.
Arkshine offered to help with a theme component, but pfaffman questioned Apple’s requirement, pointing out the existing notification level setting at the bottom of every topic.
Merefield disagreed with adding the ignore feature to the post menu, suggesting a User Card solution instead, which Muhammed_EKİCİ found more logical and functional. Merefield also mentioned the Follow plugin as a possible inspiration, with Follow, Mute, and Ignore options available on the User Card.
Moin raised a concern about users with hidden profiles, and merefield jokingly suggested not showing that to Apple or modifying the behavior to display a barebones user card.
We use it as a discourse web view in a part of our mobile application. In the latest update we sent, Apple wants users to have the ignore feature in a visible place. That’s why it doesn’t accept our update.
Actually, the ignore feature already exists in discourse, but in order to use it, you must first go to the user’s profile and find it among the options and choose ignore. Apple wants this feature in the shipping menu. Is there a way to add the ignore button to the post menu?
Yes, I’m talking about ignoring a user. This is really unreasonable and terrible, I know @robert. “A User Card solution would arguably be better?” This might be more logical and functional. I think Apple will accept it if it is on the user card.
