# Add "orderdesc" modification to advanced search

While we can choose which field to order by when searching in advanced mode:
- order:views
- order:latest
- order:likes
… we cannot choose whether we want to order ascending or descending.
Adding **`orderdesc`** modifier would easily make it possible:
- orderdesc:views
- orderdesc:latest
- orderdesc:likes

order:likes is already descending, right?
So what you want is “the opposite of the normal order that this term means”.
Not sure about this, but… How about `order:-views` to start at 0 and go up, while `order:-latest` starts at the oldest?

struggling to think of use cases for orderdesc:likes or orderdesc:views, though I am open to possibly adding order:earliest (its quite rare to need though)

We should find a way to allow for opposite ordering for any ordering type (kind of a universal way of doing it), then easier to remember and use.

You never know what one could come up with 🙂
I’d use `orderdesk:likes` to identify which type of material is the worst in terms of people likes and not create similar topics, or not include them in the lists.
`orderdesc:views` might possibly indicate topics that need some more useful information to get more attractions from organic search.
I think there might be more use-cases I can’t think of, why not just make it possible with a single operator.

Quero essa funcionalidade para dar suporte a um caso de uso de ‘caixa de entrada’ para processar o tráfego do fórum: tenho uma pesquisa que quero ordenar por _menos_ recente (para que eu possa trabalhar descendo na fila de posts aguardando resposta), e só consigo obter o _mais_ recente (pelo que vi).

Talvez você queira considerar usar o filtro Não Respondido: `/latest?max_posts=1`.

Eu estava procurando uma maneira de classificar os resultados por mais antigos (ordem cronológica ascendente, adicionando estes termos para futuras pesquisas nos metadados…) ao pesquisar dentro de um tópico.
Não consegui encontrar “Classificar por **Postagem Mais Antiga** ” (só existe **[Postagem Mais Recente](https://unicyclist.com/search?q=%40Canapin%20topic%3A69519%20order%3Alatest)**), mas tentei “Classificar por **Tópico Mais Recente** ” e [funcionou](https://unicyclist.com/search?q=%40Canapin%20topic%3A69519%20order%3Alatest_topic).
Acho que entendo a lógica, mas as palavras são um pouco contraintuitivas neste caso específico.
Uma opção de ordem cronológica ascendente/descendente seria, para mim, uma boa adição, às vezes tento fazer isso, e fiz em outros fóruns que permitiam. Frequentemente mais por diversão do que procurando informações específicas e interessantes.
Além disso, pergunto-me com que frequência as pessoas classificam por Mais Recente, em comparação com o padrão “Relevância”. Frequentemente uso “por Mais Recente” em muitos fóruns.
