# Add text area on user card and profile for logged out users

Can we add a text area at bottom of the user card and user profile for logged out users? LinkedIn does something similar as follows:

> View Steve’s full profile to…

> - See who you know in common
> - Get introduced
> - Contact Steve directly
> 
> ### View Steve’s Full Profile

I am mainly trying to let users know they can message a user (if they log in). A visible Message button (with prompt to login) or other indication on how to contact a user is the main problem I am trying to solve.

An optional/customizable text area for non-logged out users might be more flexible or easier to implement. Is there any easy way to do with it current features, CSS, etc.?

It is a bit odd to emphasize the personal message angle for logged out users; the primary focus of Discourse is public topics and replies.

I agree the text area isn’t the way to go. I’ll start a new topic with more background info on [quote=“scombs, post:1, topic:49562”]
