# Add unread & total numbers for message pane

is it possible to add numbers (unread & total messages) to message panel?  
like

This one is rather critical for us to really use discourse for support.

Since we have several aliases (and thus groups) in which support/sales end up having total/unread indicators is the only way to not lose track of items.

Your notifications contain counts, why isn’t that sufficient?

Notications are very easy to get lost. Clicking them once makes them “read”. If i go to the private messages overview I really want to see what folders have unread messages I still need to deal with. This is how our inbox looks:

Clicking each of those 1 by 1 to make sure everything is solved is quite a job every day.

The performance of the query was quite an issue in the past, I will see if I can add it in for non Archive folders without taking too much of a hit.
