# Add X on top right corner to close user card popup?

Recently I have been running into an odd UX issue and wondered if others have experienced it or heard complaints about it in their community. When you click on a user’s avatar the handy dandy user card pops up, which is great. I use it all the time and really love the feature. But then to close it you have to hit ESC or click away somewhere else on the page.

There is no X to close it, like we have for other popups, e.g. the keyboard shortcuts help screen. I’m sure there’s a good reason for this that has already been discussed elsewhere ages ago, but I couldn’t find it.

I like the idea of keeping the “X to close” consistent across the interface.

One note: the easiest way to remove this popup is to click outside of it.
