# Adding social sharing to invites

Hello, I’m looking to extend some features in the Create Invite modal. This is more of a check before I spend time on this.

The current invite modal doesn’t have any plugin outlets or use the [Sharing API](https://github.com/discourse/discourse/blob/main/app/assets/javascripts/discourse/app/lib/sharing.js) for extensibility. I’ve raised a PR for adding some plugin outlets already ([DEV: Add plugin outlets to create invite modal by Alteras1 · Pull Request #30209 · discourse/discourse · GitHub](https://github.com/discourse/discourse/pull/30209)), but wanted to ask about the Sharing API.

Is there any particular reason why the Sharing API isn’t being used for invites? Wanted to make sure this is simply a gap and not some specific design decision.
