OK I have an odd issue today may or may not be related to very recent upgrade to 2026.5.0-latest. I am one of the two site admins. I replied to a topic this morning and the notification email about the new reply only went to the other admin. I demoted the other admin to normal user and replied again. still only that same person received a notification email. I checked all users and all are set the same, watching for this category and many others. No discourse settings have changed in many months.
As an aside, I had tried adding the cloudflare template a couple of days ago, in app.yml and rebuilt, but as i was having some issues then, I had removed that template and rebuilt again, also a couple of days ago,
So this morning after seeing the Admin Notice, I updated discourse from the admin section of the gui and the warning in the subject seemed to go away, though I kind of forget where I saw that warning. I am not sure how to make sure that issue is resolved.
Then a normal user happened to log on and posted two replies to two other category topics, and all users received both notification emails.
As this category I am posting to is listed as being watched by all users and has always worked in the past, I did not try replying to a topic in a different category so as not to send “spam” email.
As I said, I deleted my reply in that category and re-posted it, but got the same behavior where only the other, now demoted admin, received it.
Any idea what might be going on? I have changed no settings in many months and it has always worked fine until today in terms of notification emails being sent to all.

I don’t think this warning is related to notifications. But to be sure, we need to find out which customization is causing it. There might be a more detailed error in your browser console. Otherwise, a link to your site or a list of the unofficial plugins and components you use might be helpful.

Yes been scratching my head. So I rebuilt the app from the cli. Then I sent a reply to a topic in another category. That worked. So I sent a reply in the offending topic, that did the same thing only sent to the one user. What I have done now is remove that category from being watched for all users, saved it and updated the users, then re-applied it again so all users are watching that category once again.
I have to go to some meetings and will try to post from that topic again later. I am hopeful this rules out the Admin Notice issue but I still want to resolve that. However as an interim measure, I did run
cd /var/discourse/plugins
grep -Rl “userOptions” .
and that returned two plugins,
chat/assets/javascripts/discourse/templates/preferences/chat.gjs
discourse-math/public/1.0.1/mathjax/input/tex-base.js
So I disabled Chat, rebuilt that app but still got the Admin Notice. I’ll do some more digging later and post back.
Thank you! It is a closed site so I will check the browser console when I next see the error. I clicked X to remove it, not sure why I did that, but I assume it will reappear.
**Update as I was compiling this list just now:**
In compiling this list I noticed that a component called “Right Sidebar Blocks” even though unused, the component indicated it needed an update, so I did so. I am assuming that was the offender even though it is not specifically a theme or plugin as per the Admin Notice, I suppose. Regardless I have attached a screenshot entitled used-components.jpg
