On the one hand, I like that Discourse is trying to avoid an overly complicated permissions system, that only one person (whoever created it) actually understands. On the other, 2 roles doesn’t seem to be enough for the growing variety of Discourse sites out there. Category Specific moderators are coming, but that role has less power than the current moderator and doesn’t address the issues brought up here. What seems to be needed is a “site-owner” type role.
