# AI bot chat activities counted as anonymous users pageviews?

enabled AI bot in channel chat, there are a good number chat interaction with AI bot on the first day, noticed there is a big jump on “Anonymous users” in the pageviews chart.
my guess, very likely it is related to the AI bot channel chat ?
does this make sense counting as anonymous user ?

Chat is not even enabled for anonymous, see:

So whatever traffic this new traffic is, it is not really possible it is coming from chat.
You are going to have to look through web logs (or configure something like google analytics) to get a good understanding on what is going on at the micro level.

Thanks Sam, that might be a coincidence, we turned on ai bot chat today. While, still , dont think that could be that many guest pageviews today…

I believe that’s not what they had meant, I think they were more asking if the AI bot itself (when used in chat by users) was causing anonymous pageviews.

Yes, thanks Firepup, i was wondering that, maybe when the ai bot retrieves messages in channel chat, that counts? Seems not, assuming it is done via the api … hmm

Yeah it will not cause page views, the tools access the database directly via the backend
