# Akismet vs NetEase?

I just rejected another Akismet spam flag (the updated UI looks nice, BTW) and afterward clicked through just to see - once again - if there was anything I could tune to make detection better:

Once in the settings I saw that there’s (now?) a choice of spam filter

Any advice over when we should pick one versus the other?

Interesting… I couldn’t even find NetEase on Google without including “text detection service”. Looks like it’s part of the huge Chinese conglomerate [163.com](http://163.com), so I’d hazard a guess that it’s primarily trained to detect spam in Chinese. Can’t find any pricing info either, just “Try for free”.

NetEase was added primarily for Chinese instances that can’t reach for Akismet.

maybe we should update to say `Netease (Chinese)` so there’s at least a little hint here
