# Allow specific groups to create polls

Would it be possible to allow certain groups to create polls rather than just trust levels?

At the moment it is gated on trust level:

`poll minimum trust level to create` can be raised to a higher TL if you want less people to have access.

Medium term we would certainly like to change it so poll create permission is group based.

This feels like a duplicate of: [Restrict specific group to create poll](https://meta.discourse.org/t/restrict-specific-group-to-create-poll/251843) ? Would you like to make a specific feature request here?

There are so many details about this (necessarily) complex platform to remember, there is no shame in missing one.

I’d recommend leaving your Topic up as it might inform someone else in the future 👍

The `poll minimum trust level to create` site setting was changed to `poll create allowed groups` in
