# Allowing users to delete their posts

How does one enable a user to delete their own post? As it is, users can only flag a post for the admin to delete. I tried increasing the user’s level but didn’t have any luck.

I feel like this must be something obvious that I’m missing.

Press the delete button on the post. That’s it. It even works on topics now _provided the topic has NO REPLIES_.

So I had a user come to me unable to delete a post. Is this maybe because it was flagged?

I think this feature was added in the last six months. Are you on a recent version?

In that case, no. They can’t delete their topics, even if they have no replies. There are lots of other reasons you should update.
