# Annotate admin setting changes

Hi everyone,

My team and I would find it _really_ useful to be able to annotate an admin setting.

Eg. if one of us changes a value anywhere, it’d be great to be able to add a little one-liner note as to _why_ we changed it.

It would let other team members know when it was changed, by whom, and why.

For example, this:

Would become this:

if you hover over the setting name you should be able to see the history by clicking the clock icon ![Screen Shot 2021-10-29 at 4.04.13 PM](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/meta/original/3X/8/b/8beef3aa8c6fa8b558bd2ad89acc081a9a51274e.png)

you can also go to `admin/logs/staff_action_logs` and filter by site setting changes if you’d prefer to see more information at once

we don’t have a note feature, but that could be a useful addition!

In all my years of using Discourse I don’t think I’ve ever noticed that clock before 🤦‍♂️
