Anyone else seeing a drastic drop in community activity for Support forums?

Sadly I see a few blockers.

  1. Any idea that starts with “if everyone…” is already on the backfoot. It’s insanely hard to begin a movement. That doesn’t mean don’t try, simply that it needs a few people with insane devotion to that specific problem. It’s bound to happen, but I think they’ll be swimming against an insanely strong tide.
  2. SEO and GEO are fundamental problems. I would love to block the models, but at the end of the day consumers are going to the models before they go to me. GPT/Claude is the new google. I need to let those services scrape me so I appear in them as a source and maybe get the traffic. If I don’t let them scrape, then a competitor appears and they get the traffic. Obviously this is not such a large issue for establish brands such as Discourse, but for small fish I don’t see good alternatives :frowning:
