# Assign group permission to a category via API

Hi, I would like to use the API to assign a group permission to the category. Currently the Discourse API Gem does not support it, [GitHub - discourse/discourse\_api: Ruby API for Discourse · GitHub](https://github.com/discourse/discourse_api), nor did I see any support in the Discourse API documentation.
