# Assigning tags to old topics

Please can the additional tags listed below be assigned to these old topics that I created. Is this the right place to request this kind of change? If not, please point me in the right direction.
Are there site / trust level settings that determine how long before tags can no longer be assigned/unassigned to topics? If so please can you let me know what the names and values assigned to these settings are.

You can edit them as long as you are allowed to edit the post. Furthermore, the groups specified in the `edit all topic groups` site setting are allowed to edit title, category, and tags of topics.
