Autogrid not working in the compact composer, any workarounds?

I love the autogrid feature, lots of uploads on my website. However, with the new compact composer it doesn’t seem to trigger it, only when the composer is switched back to the old one. Are there any workarounds?

i was hoping that i could switch to markdown editor, apply the Bbcode, but as soon as i tried to go back to rich text editor; i got the following error message

Auto grid now works both in the markdown and in the richtext editor. There is also UI for selecting and adding uploaded images to the grid.
