# Automatically replace forum URLs in posts with topic title

Just like on StackExchange, it would be nice to automatically replace bare URLs pointing to other threads in the forum, with the topic title hyperlinked to that URL:
- [Sortable Admin pages - #23](https://meta.discourse.org/t/sortable-admin-pages/20721/23)
The URL above could be replaced with “[Sortable Admin pages](https://meta.discourse.org/t/sortable-admin-pages/20721/23)” (ideally, with the relative path to the topic, so the link will survive domain name changes).

If you post the URL on a line by itself, it will be picked up by a Onebox like this:

Rewriting inline URLs’ titles sounds nice on paper but could be risky. The forum would have to be able to understand when users are refering to the linked topic and when they’re talking about _the address itself_, something which, at least here on Meta, happens surprisingly often…
