# Avoiding the 20 characters

When you post is less than 20 characters you can do this:

 ![image](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/meta/original/3X/d/d/dd953857fbd7c5cc598c889e27694c124e01d5da.png)  
and avoid 20 characters. This works on other Discourse too.  
I don’t know, is it a known bug (I’m quite new), but anyway I’m reporting it.

I think that who wants to bypass that validation will bypass, in a way or another. Trying to validate each and every case that could bypass that limit will probably be a road to hell, unless there’s an easy way to know how many characters are in the **rendered** output.

Yes. There is discussion about this. Mostly, if people want not to play by the rules you have to solve it socially rather than technologically.
