# Badges for tagging

Has anyone created badges around tagging? I’d like to give badges to people who are actively helping to organize our content. So a badge that can be given out at different intervals of X tags. ie:

Has tagged 5 topics  
Has tagged 15 topics  
Has tagged 50 topics

Or whatever intervals for the tags. Or even

Created 5 tags  
Created 10 tags

etc. Thanks!

Should be fairly simple, though I strongly recommend against giving badges for creating tags. That has some very very bad side effects.

Yea, I can see how that would be a problem with people creating junk badges to game the system. I still want to encourage community organization… definitely time to ponder this more. Thank you @sam!

Maybe only target tags that have been used more than X times?

It can still be gamed if someone wants to go tag random topics that many times. Taller barrier …

The record of who first put a tag on a given topic is not easily accessible, so you may have done problems there.
