Hi Eric, welcome!

There are no silly questions! While there is no built-in feature to achieve that, you can assign each category a unique style by using category-specific [CSS](https://meta.discourse.org/t/making-custom-css-changes-on-your-site/168101) with a [theme component](https://meta.discourse.org/t/customizing-your-site-with-existing-theme-components/312297?silent=true), for example.
