Need information on how to inform about an event cancellation

Hello,

I’m looking for a solution to notify all registered users about an event cancellation.

I only see the option to send a message to everyone, but that requires assigning each user individually in the message. So if there are 40 people registered for the event, that’s a lot of work

Is there no “cancel event” option that would automatically notify all registered users that the event is canceled or rescheduled to a specific date?

Thank you.

i think you want a “pre-fill going” or “pre-fill interested” button in the “Notify Users” pop-up, since “Close event” deosn’t have a pop-up

Yes, there should be an option to notify all participants about an event cancellation or a date change. How do you handle this?

I feel this part is missing.

The number of interacting participants verses participants in my large SSO-gated community, hasn’t reached the level yet where this would be an issue.

I couldn’t find documentation confirming that closing an event stops edit notifications for users marked Going. The documented setting is discourse post event edit notifications time extension, which refers to notifying Going invitees about edits to the original post, but I couldn’t find anything specific about how Close event changes that behaviour.
