# Bounce score does not reset when email address is changed

Scenario:

- A user signs up with `john.doe@example.con`
- Activation mail bounces
- After a few attempts the user realizes they made a typo and they update the email to `john.doe@example.com`
- Activation mail arrives

Problem:  
In the users profile the bounce score is non zero, accompanied by the text “Some bounces were received recently from that email.”

Note how it even says “ **that** email”

Expected:  
A bounce score should be associated with an email address, not with a user. Since that would be quite a change, I suggest that as an alternative solution the update of an email address would reset the bounce score for that user.
