Looks like it was fixed in the topic I linked above. But it still seems to be a problem in many other topics like Should Discourse make an effort to become a viable comment platform? - #66 by Falco and Take the New Carousel Mode for a Spin - #16 by chapoi
Since there hasn’t been a response to my post, I can’t say whether this issue has already been resolved for you, whether this particular topic was fixed for testing purposes while others are still waiting for a bulk fix, or whether it’s just a coincidence that the avatars are working again in the topic I mentioned as an example.
