# Bugs in creating or editing categories

I discovered the icon/emoji category icon feature by chance and started using it right away! Awesome work!
But there are a few bugs that should be fixed:
1. (maybe unrelated) the color selection does not take keyboard entries, only pasted hex-color (without the `#`, which is annoying as well).
2. switching icon/emoji or parent category will erase the new category name and slug. You have to select those first, and then enter the category name and optional slug.

Yuck. That’s a nasty one. I’ll let our team know. I’m not sure if it’s related to this work but either way we will fix it up.

I see what you mean about the parent category, but I can’t replicate this with switching the **Style** field to a different selection — can you walk me through exactly what you did there or share a recording?

Thanks for those recordings, that was really helpful. I’ve moved this over to a new topic so we can keep tabs on it. I’ve reported both issues to our team and we’ll follow up once we’ve resolved these issues!
