# Can I prevent Discourse forums from changing the URL while scrolling?

It clogs up my browsing history, which I actually do look back at. If I want a link to the comment I’m currently looking that, I know how to do so manually.

The URL changes as you scroll to account for the post number but I’m not sure how that clogs up your browsing history.

If you click the timestamp top right (the 3h in the example above) it will bring up this modal which allows you to copy the direct link.

Similarly, copying the URL when in any post will do the same thing – that’s why it changes.
