There is an official [affiliate plugin](https://meta.discourse.org/t/discourse-affiliate-plugin/101937) which you can utilise for generating Amazon affiliate income.

You can also restrict users from being able to post _any_ link based on Trust Levels.

There is nothing wrong with what you are suggesting (in terms of being good or bad practice) but I can’t think of a way to limit members to just certain types of links (i.e. no affiliates).
