# האם משתמשים יכולים לפרסם ברמת ההורה אם קיימות תת-קטגוריות?

If we create forum sub-categories, like this:

> Parent\_Category  
> … Sub\_Category\_1  
> … Sub\_Category\_2  
> … Sub\_Category\_3

a) Can the forum members post at all four levels listed above?

OR

b) Do their topics need to be under one of the three sub-categories?

OR

c) Can we define (a) or (b) depending which we prefer?

From experience I can say it’s a), but maybe c) is possible too (I’m no admin in any forum so I don’t have access to that kind of settings).

It’s easy to set up the category permissions to be exactly how you want this to work:

Categories are all independent, so they are treated as unrelated. The only difference is that if yon don’t have at least See permission on a parent category, you can’t see all the subcategories, even if you have permission to the subcategories.
