# Can we post outgoing urls like reddit?

I’m trying to build a community like reddit, but with discourse features.
Can I post topics that redirect to other URLs ?

No. That is not how Discourse works at the moment (nor do I believe there are any plans to do so). Discourse is about encouraging conversation and dialog…having a topic that redirects solely to an external page defeats this goal. Additionally, there is no interface to get into the topics comments if the link goes somewhere else. Unlike reddit there is no `comments` button below each topic,

I see, it’s just that I’m in the middle of choosing the right platform for my next product.
I’m in love with Discourse, and I think I will adapt my product instead.

The “External URL” option offers what I think you’re asking for. Maybe post a more distinct example of your goal?

It’s basically like reddit. You can post links instead of topics.
