# Cannot add a space before the exclamation mark

So, I know this will not be a problem for many of us and this will not revolutionize our lives, but in French, the rule is to place a space before an exclamation mark, and in English, the rule is not to place one.

But my forum is in French, and I was unable to add that space [here](https://forum-bresil.com/t/envoyez-des-cartes-postales-dans-le-monde-entier/736):

Do you see a workaround to allow that ?

It may be from the settings `title prettify` or more likely `title remove extraneous space` (looks like a recent setting this one)

Yes exactly that: site\_settings.title\_remove\_extraneous\_space

I guess no way to disable without going into the code?

Ah ! Found it in the settings… I was looking at the text description of the setting. So problem solved, thanks @Steven !
